Amazing Health Products used to use a shopping cart through www.mals-e.com who is encripted using HackerSafe©. The locked padlock icon appeared once you reach the page that asks for your personal (credit card) information. We have since begun using the secure shopping cart provided by the GNLD International website to make your ordering experience easier.
Normally the main pages of any web site do not have security activated because most web pages only display publicly accessible information. However, when sensitive information is passed, like your credit card information, SSL security is turned on. Internet browsers have a feature that allows you to determine if security is active. Encryption is a security technique used to protect information by making it unreadable during transmission. Secure websites use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is the current industry standard for encryption. SSL works with secure browsers, like Netscape (version 2.0 or greater), Internet Explorer (version 2.1 or greater) and Mozilla Firefox. By using SSL, information is scrambled before it leaves your browser and is unscrambled when it reaches the destination website. Should someone intercept the transmission it will be unreadable and will be extremely difficult for them to translate into a readable message.

You can tell if a site is secure by looking at the lower right hand corner of your screen if you are using Mozilla Firefox (right). If the page you are on is secure, you will see a locked padlock icon. (If you are using Internet Explorer 7 (see below), it will be in the upper right in the bar next to the website address.)
To view more information about the security of a website, click on the lock and a window will open that will display more information about the security of the website. Amazing Health Products used to use Mals E-Commerce who is encripted using HackerSafe©. You will see our old screen shot of our old shopping cart at "www.mals-e.com" and "http://ww9.aitsafe.com" in the information pop-up box displayed here to show you an example of a secure check point. (You can check our new shopping cart in this same manner when you get to the check out page.)
Always make sure that you are ordering from a reputable site. If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Different browsers and different versions of browsers will show the padlock in different positions, either in the upper right or the lower left. You can either click or double-click the padlock and then click on "Properties" to view more information about the site. |
With Netscape, look at your security icon (it looks like a padlock). If it is locked, the site is secure. If it is unlocked, this means that the site is not secure and you should not input your credit card number or any other personal information such as bank account or social security numbers. (Your name, address and phone number are public knowledge. Anyone can find this information in any phone book white pages so don't worry if the page you are on is secure if you are on the page that asks for your name and address.) ![]() For more information about the security,

Verify that the site you are looking at is really where you are at. A recent security flaw in Internet Explorer allowed websites to "hide" their true address, therefore by faking a valid, reputable website, they were able to steal personal information. To verify that a website is really what it should be, in Internet Explorer, you can right click anywhere on the website and select "Properties". (This doesn't work with FireFox or Mozilla browsers.) ![]() |
In the resulting window, there will be an Address field. Make sure that this field matches the website that you are supposed to be at. If it is different, don't give out any information to the site in question. ![]() |
