Always Found Together in Nature!

B-Vitamins are not found as single, isolated nutrients in nature.  They always occur in natural groupings called a "complex".  The complete family of B-complex is composed of eleven substances that are recognized as separate nutrients.

GNLD's B Complex vitamin supplements provide all 11 members of the Vitamin B Complex "family" in balanced ratios as they occur naturally in whole foods.

It is called B-Complex because all parts are water-soluble.  They all occur naturally in vegetable and animal tissues, and they all share interrelated functions.  Since B-vitamins are water-soluble, they are not stored in the body.  Any unused portion is eliminated.  Therefore, they must be supplied daily in the diet.

How does GNLD's Threshold Controlled technology release the nutrients over time?

GNLD's Threshold Controlled technology features our exclusive process which allows for slow, monitored release of nutrients into the system.  Utilizing a special matrix to control the release of nutrients, Threshold Control technology helps maintain maximum blood levels for six full hours or more.

GNLD's Threshold Control technology is not simply a special method of coating the tablet.  The tablet coating does control the rate at which the nutrients first become available to the system.  After the coating dissolves it is the job of our unique, natural matrix to gradually release nutrients for absorption.  The nutrients are held in place within a framework that breaks down during the digestive process; as the matrix disintegrates it slowly loses its ability to hold onto nutrients and they are gradually freed for the body to take up and use.post quote graphic

Who May be Deficient in B-Vitamins:

Average diets do not adequately supply B-compex.  Processed foods are a major factor in this wide-spread deficiency.  Refining, canning and over-cooking remove or destroy many B-vitamins.  In some cases, manufacturers replace some of those lost, but are unable to restore the natural balance.

Medication, sugar, alcohol, insecticides and estrogen (oral contraceptives) can all harm these nutrients in the digestive tract.  The caffeine in coffee has been found to destroy Vitamin B1.  In addition, the body's demand for B-vitamins can be increased at any time by stress or an infection.  Some are lost by perspiration.  Deficiency can result from a strict vegetarian diet.

Signs and Symptoms of Deficiency

Deficiency may cause restlessness, abdominal pains, burning feet, muscle cramps, decreased antibody formation, adrenal exhaustion and low blood sugar.

Deficiency may cause depression, confusion, open sores or cracking around the mouth, nose and eyes, inflammation of the tongue, and discomfort in eating.

Numbness and cramps in arms and legs, or an unusual sensitivity to light are also deficiency signs.  Deficiency causes pellagra -- a reddish skin rash that later turns dark and rough and if prolonged, dementia and death ensue.

Functions of B-Complex

B-Complex vitamins are active in providing the body with energy, by helping convert carbohydrates into glucose which the body burns to produce energy.  Children, pregnant and lactating women need extra B-vitamins for growth.

Your Liver, Nerves and Muscles

B-vitamins are needed for muscle coordination, a healthy nervous system and skin, for withstanding stress and for producing adrenal hormones.  They help form antibodies and red blood cells.

B-vitamins are necessary to prevent blood disorders, to form genetic material, to aid detoxification, to empty the gall bladder and to produce lecithin.

Food Sources

Brewer's yeast, liver, whole grains and egg yolk are rich in B-vitamins.

FACTOID:
The terms "folate" and "folic acid" represent two different forms of the same vitamin.  Folate is the form of the B vitamin found naturally in foods while Folic Acid is the form that is used in vitamin supplements and fortified foods.  Folic Acid is created from sources in the human food chain -- a pure pharmaceutical grade component which is derived from ingredients found in yeast, mushrooms, spinach and other leafy greens.  Many times the general term 'folate' is used to describe both forms of the vitamin.  Both forms of folate are good for people of all ages and, Folic Acid is needed every day for healthy tissues.  The body absorbs Folic Acid from vitamin supplements and fortified foods more easily than from naturally occurring food Folate.  You can rest assured that the Folic Acid we use in our products is safe and effective.post quote graphic
