GNLD NeoLife Nourishake® Protein Drink
Heart-Healthy Recipes
Nutritional Information:
High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a high-fat, high-sodium diet are all considered major risk factors in the development of cardiovascular disease. Reducing dietary fat to less than 30 percent of total daily calories and sodium to less than 2400 mg per day can help promote healthy cardiovascular function. In addition, several nutrients in foods may further help to minimize risk factors.
Research shows:
Potassium helps to lower blood pressure and exerts a protective effect on the vascular system. Maintaining calcium levels of 500 to 700 mg per day may reduce the risk of high blood pressure over time. Fiber may lower blood lipid levels. Oat fiber has also been shown to help lower cholesterol levels.
Each of the following recipes is low in fat and sodium, and supplies at least 800 mg of potassium, at least 300 mg of calcium, and more than 6 g of fiber from many sources including oats.
