An allergic reaction is an inappropriate reaction to a substance that would otherwise be considered harmless. The immune system includes antibodies, white blood cells, mast cells, complement proteins, and other substances. Normally, it defends the body against foreign substances (antigens), which invade the body, such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites. However, in susceptible people, the immune system can overreact to certain antigens, which are referred to as allergens. Allergens are proteins or low-molecular weight substances that the body identifies as antigenic. As was stated, an allergic reaction is an inappropriate reaction to a substance that would otherwise be considered harmless. Allergens are harmless in most people. About one third of the people in the United States have an allergy.
You may experience an allergic reaction when an allergen lands on the skin or in the eye, is inhaled, eaten, or injected. An allergic reaction can also occur as part of a seasonal allergy, or be triggered by taking a drug, eating certain foods, or breathing in dust or dander.
In most allergic reactions, the immune system, when first exposed to an allergen, produces a type of antibody called immunoglobulin. Immunoglobulin is responsible for recognizing, destroying, and positioning antigens for removal. The first exposure may make a person sensitive to the allergen but does not cause symptoms. After the first exposure, when the person encounters the same allergen, the cells that have immunoglobulin on their surface release substances that cause swelling or inflammation in the surrounding tissues. These substances include histamine, eosinophil chemotatctic factor of anaphylaxis (ECF-A), leukotrienes, kinins, platelet activating factor (PAF), bradykinin, serotonin, and prostaglandins. Such substances begin a cascade of reactions that irritate and harm tissues.
Allergies appear to be genetic as children of allergic parents are twice as likely to develop allergies, however, many factors have to work together to make a person allergic. Genetic allergies are referred to as atopic allergies. Allergies can also be stimulated by repeated exposure to specific allergens or pollutants.
People with allergies should avoid excessive heat or cold. This includes over-air-conditioned exercise areas. Make sure to breathe through the nose so allergens will be filtered. It is also a good idea to exercise indoors if you have pollen or smog induced allergies.

"Based on medical tests, I had a long list of respiratory allergies and I was on medications regularly. I found that after I started using Resp-Eleven the medications I was using were not necessary. Recently, my son and his two dogs came for an overnight visit. Before Resp-Eleven, I would have a severe reaction but this time I was fine! I am really pleased with the results this product has given me and am especially happy for no longer needing medications to control my allergies. Resp-Eleven does the work now!"
